SafeTran

This is a proposal created as a project for the class, "Radical Design" in Fall, 2005 in the Computer Science Department of the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, taught by Prof. Georges Grinstein.

Our team proposed ways to provide a variety of independent transportation options for people who cannot safely drive or use public transportation without some level of help or supervision -- mentally-handicapped adults, elderly with mild dementia, and older children. For example, a vehicle could only stop at a portal where a person authorized to receive its occupant inserted a digital credential; otherwise they would be automatically routed to a safe back-up location.
